Located on the Letort trout-fishing stream at the edge of Carlisle, Jacob’s Resting Place 1790 Bed and Breakfast is your perfect retreat. Built on land purchased in 1751 from the William Penn Land Grant, this gracious brick Georgian is one of the earliest remaining tavern-inns in South Central Pennsylvania. Mature trees and formal gardens surround this colonial bed and breakfast. After a day of travel or business refresh yourself in your whirlpool tub or step down the limestone and lilac terrace to the large swimming pool and patio.

If you want to see the sights, we are near the Gettysburg Battle fields, Hershey Park, the Appalachian Trail, Dickinson College, Messiah College, Shippensburg University, Harrisburg Capital Complex, Amish Country. Or it is a short walk to the Carlisle Collector Car Shows, the Army Heritage Museum and Military History Institute, Carlisle Barracks and the United States Army War College.
