Built as a YMCA in 1912 by renowned architect Horace Trumbauer, this 10-story Georgian revival-style structure will be transformed into Le Méridien in Spring 2009. Our central atrium courtyard with a skylight at the crown of its 75-foot ceiling, and the 90-seat restaurant and 30-seat bar surrounded by gracious archways and classic woodwork detailing, create a sense of openness and graceful simplicity. This 202-room uspcale hotel also has 6,000 square feet of meeting space, including a Grand Ballroom that offers an elegant environment set off by views of Philadelphia's architecturally stunning City Hall. Take advantage of our thoroughly modern redesign, in true urban chic style, from the fashionable décor of the guest rooms to our new health club. Inspiring and unexpected experiences can be found at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts around the world. From artist designed keycards that provide access to local cultural centres to unique large-scale art installations at the front entrance, a signature scent at check-in and custom soundscapes that transform the entry way and elevator ride. Each of these experiences has been created through our innovative LM100TM programme that blends a global group of artists to enrich and transform the guest experience.
